On behalf of the Hemlock Farms Conservancy (HFC), we would like to invite eligible seniors in your high school to apply for our scholarship. One winner in our region will be awarded $1000. Prospective applicants must:

- Plan to use their talents and abilities to pursue a career in an environmental field, such as (but not limited to) ecology, botany, fisheries, forestry, geology, geography, natural resource management, agriculture, entomology, watershed protection, conservation, wildlife management.
- Have excellent character.
- Have engaged in community service, extra/co-curricular and/or work experience related to the protection and appreciation of natural resources and the environment.
- Have plans for post-secondary education following graduation.

- Objective: To collect data and provide information regarding the protection of our groundwater
- Community engagement: HFCA membership, Pike County residents
- Benefit Provided: $5,000
Recipient of PALMS Grant
- Objective: To create a more viable shoreline buffer at Laurel Ridge Beach
- Community engagement: HFCA Environment Committee members, HFCA recreational lake users
- Benefit Provided: $11,974
Recipient of Pike County Conservation District Environmental Education Grant
- Objective: To create an educational, science experience for HFCA Youth Center participants
- Community engagement: 20 HFCA Youth Center participants, 6 adult volunteers
- Benefit Provided: $500
Recipient of C-SAW Stream Assessment Education Grant
- Objective: To conduct a scientific stream assessment with elementary/middle school students
- Community engagement: Local Cub Scout, Boy and Girl Scout troops, 6-10 adult volunteers
- Benefit Provided: In-kind training for adults, free data collection and assessment by Stroud Water Research Center valuable in measuring impacts on water quality in HFCA and surrounding area
Hemlock Farms Conservancy Matching Grant for HFCA Chipper Day Program
- Objective: To provide HFCA financial assistance for a fire safety program that helps to protect Hemlock Farms from wildfire risk
- Community engagement: HFCA membership
- Benefit Provided: Match up to $5,000 of HFCA expenditures for this project
Annual Hemlock Farms Conservancy Grant for HFCA E-Waste Recycle Day
- Objective: To assist HFCA with the cost of electronic removal while keeping waste out of landfills and facilitate the potential reduction of HFCA waste removal cost for items that might otherwise have been discarded in the HFCA dumpster
- Community engagement: 4000 lbs. of waste removed from HFCA waste collection from HFCA members (we have removed between 3000 to 8000 lbs. of waste yearly)
- Benefit Provided: $2,500 for current year cost of service
Hemlock Farms Conservancy Grant for HFCA Community Conservation Landscape Seminars
- Objective: To assist HFCA Conservation Department to educate HFCA members and their guests about responsible forest landscaping
- Community engagement: 25-30 HFCA members and guests
- Benefit Provided: $250
